Lacoste - X Bodega

Lacoste and Bodega collaborated to produce the Esteban sneakers. This makes it the first collaborative work done between these two companies. These Esteban sneakers were inspired by the Native American culture and features matte brown Nubuck leather for its upper material. The soles are dark tan in shade color and its tongue is made from brown leather with the Bodega name embroidered on it. Traditional Native American textiles and prints are a feature of its collar lining and these shoes come with three sets of laces.

The Esteban sneakers are built to withstand harsh weather conditions and can be used on rough/rugged terrain. This shoe takes its coloring from the Native American clothing and cultural heritage. The Esteban was designed especially to pay homage to the Native American culture and these shoes are a limited edition with only 250 pairs made. Lacoste teamed up with the Boston retailer, bodega to bring to life rugged leather footwear that can withstand tough conditions.

These sneakers can be worn either with the hi-top in place or rolled down to ensure for more ventilation and ease of use. The Lacoste X Bodega Esteban is due to hit retail stores as from April 2010.

Lacoste - Ogata Croc Myth India

The Lacoste sports brand has been around for over 75 years and is associated with crocodiles just like its logo depicts. Lacoste was founded by Rene Lacoste who at the time was a professional tennis player. Lacoste are releasing a collection of sneakers to celebrate the Lacoste legend and founder. This edition of sneakers (Crocodile mythology-Myth Vs Legend) is based on crocodile mythologies around the world. Crocodile mythologies of Egypt, Papua New Guinea, Japan, India and New York amongst others are represented in this series and each myth is accompanied by a specially made sneaker to match. Each sneakers in this series is packaged in a special edition box and the Lacoste Ogata based on the Indian crocodile myth is no exception.

The Ogata India was inspired by the Mugger crocodile which played a vital role in the legend of Shankara, a Hindu philosopher. The Lacoste Ogata’s ornate stitching and bright pink colorations are characteristics of the Hindu temples and local textile colors respectively. The entire Lacoste crocodile myth sneaker series are made up of nine sneaker styles based on different cultures around the globe. Each sneaker type has its own story adapted from a particular myth for the major tennis brand shoe that is the Lacoste Ogata and by extension, the Lacoste Crocodile Mythological sneaker series.

LACOSTE - Tennis X Croc Mythology (Polynesia)

For over 75 years we have come to closely associate the crocodile with the world-famous and illustrious Lacoste brand. To commemorate the association, Lacoste has came up with a collection of nine sneakers to honor the legend of the Lacoste founder, Rene Lacoste and the different Mythologies on the infamous crocodiles from different cultures around the globe. The collection has been released over three months (April, May, and June 2009).

The special edition collection is entitled ‘Crocodile Mythology – Myth vs. Legend’. From the Polynesian Mythology is the sneaker inspired by the New Guinea crocodile and the traditional Polynesian carvings. The rich brown tones of the sneakers are from the shadings of the New Guinea crocodile. The color is also from the wood carvings of the Nuga which is the mythological half-man half-crocodile which is connected with the creation of the world in the Polynesian mythology.

The hard body armor of the crocodile is reflected on the embossed crocodile skin on the side of the sneakers. Around the sneaker are subtle totem pole styled designs which are inspired by the traditional Polynesian carvings. A special edition box is used to package each sneaker collection. It contains a booklet and postcard pack which runs through the tales of the myth and the legend of the famous Lacoste.

LACOSTE - Tiller X Croc Mythology (Egypt)

The Lacoste brand has been in the market for over 75 years. Rene Lacoste was the founder of the Lacoste Company. The crocodile has been its emblem since 1925.To pay tribute to this link Lacoste has launched the tiller inspired by the Egyptian culture, architecture and the tribe. The color combination of this particular product is associated with the Egypt mythology.
