Lacoste and Bodega collaborated to produce the Esteban sneakers. This makes it the first collaborative work done between these two companies. These Esteban sneakers were inspired by the Native American culture and features matte brown Nubuck leather for its upper material. The soles are dark tan in shade color and its tongue is made from brown leather with the Bodega name embroidered on it. Traditional Native American textiles and prints are a feature of its collar lining and these shoes come with three sets of laces.
The Esteban sneakers are built to withstand harsh weather conditions and can be used on rough/rugged terrain. This shoe takes its coloring from the Native American clothing and cultural heritage. The Esteban was designed especially to pay homage to the Native American culture and these shoes are a limited edition with only 250 pairs made. Lacoste teamed up with the Boston retailer, bodega to bring to life rugged leather footwear that can withstand tough conditions.
These sneakers can be worn either with the hi-top in place or rolled down to ensure for more ventilation and ease of use. The Lacoste X Bodega Esteban is due to hit retail stores as from April 2010.
